How is it the end of August already? I didn’t even notice summer this year. It seems to be getting shorter and shorter. Don’t you just love all the delicious fresh fruits popping up in the supermarkets and farmers markets!
Just this week my husband came home with a bag of peaches, Colorado ones I must add. He mentioned the sign said, “Colorado peaches by Demand!”. It was a huge display but there were only about a dozen left so he immediately thought “they have to be good“! He also noticed there were New Jersey Peaches, white peaches, and even organic peaches by the bushels, but everyone seemed to be going or these Organic Colorado Peaches.
No wonder! Seriously, a juicy sweet explosion in your mouth. The best peaches ever! That first Colorado peach was soooo good, I asked my hubby to go back for more. Seriously folks, go find some Colorado Peaches. They’re worth it! What a TREAT!
I ended up freezing some because they were getting a little ripe. This morning as I was enjoying a fresh peach, I thought smoothie. I just returned from another warm and muggy run so this hit the spot. Just the right amount of protein, carbs, and fat for recovery, and super satisfying too!
This is an unbelievable smoothie! It’s a perfect way to start a busy morning and keep you going all the way till lunch time and beyond! This Peaches and Cream Breakfast Smoothie is made with juicy peaches, banana, a dash of cinnamon, chia seeds, a little greek yogurt, and your choice of milk. I also through in a handful of pea shoots I purchased at the farmers market, but any type of greens will work.
Since I have plenty of peaches around right now because it’s peach season, and they are soooo juicy, why not whip up a smoothie with me!
In fact, I understand school is back in session, mom’s are busy hustling around getting their kiddos off to school, so something to sip on for breakfast is just the answer! This Peaches and Cream Smoothie doesn’t take long to whip up, so you really have no excuse but to enjoy a refreshing breakfast smoothie with me! I love company. If you can’t find those juicy Colorado Peaches, buy some frozen peaches, or any other peach will work too.
I make my smoothies with Unsweetened Silk Almond Milk or Coconut Milk because I just love the creaminess and taste. I am not lactose intolerant, but you can rest assure if you are, all of Silk’s products are lactose and dairy free!
“I have a new favorite smoothie and I have a feeling so will you!”
