Celebrating Halloween & Birthdays in Texas

Since returning from our visit in Texas, not only have I been catching up on work, but also a bit of sleep. Our original plan was to stay in an Air B&B but our reservation fell through due to a few big events in the city. It was a bit disappointing but it was a real treat to spend time with these kiddos. Not only did we get in on their Halloween party, but we also celebrated birthdays. First up was the Halloween party.  Nora’s daycare sure knows how to put on a special night for these kids. There were games in every room.  When they finished each game they picked ONE piece of candy before they went on to the next game.  Such a fun night for all.

One of my favorite memories made was hanging out with Adelyn in a local Anytime Fitness.  I snuck in a run early in the mornings and a gym workout when we could. This girl couldn’t wait to go with us!  She was so proud to show me how strong and fit she was.I also made some delicious meals which everyone appreciated…unfortunately Rob’s daughter had some complications with her surgery so she wasn’t able to be a part of the festivities but we made the best of the situation.

Our birthday gifts were also a big hit……..

Last but not least, we made it to Bucees in Denton.  They certainly do everything BIG in Texas..Buccess is no Different ~  enormous, obnoxious, full of junk food… yep, Texas!

It was hard to say good bye to the kiddos again and they of course hated to see us go. I promised them both pictures of our first measurable snow fall. They miss the Minnesota snow….Probably has much as I miss them.

I loved their energy…they were always up for a walk with Grandpa and Grandma.  In fact, I think we have a runner in the family.
