First off, let me tell you, if you haven’t tried one of my protein smoothies, yet, you’re missing out! I love our new protein and this new combination of nuts and spices is EPIC! This protein smoothie tastes like a straight up milkshake and who doesn’t love ice cream?
My mom’s ultimate favorite ice cream is buttered pecan, mine is straight up vanilla, and my husband’s, pistachio. Luckily I don’t have ice cream around too often since my husband doesn’t have much self control. I can easily have a couple spoonfuls and be fine. Unless of course you’re serving it with my favorite cobbler??!
Thanks to my friend who requested some of my delicious and healthy crispy walnuts, I present you with a CREAMY WALNUT SPICED PROTEIN SMOOTHIE. If this idea doesn’t tease your tastebuds, I don’t know what will. Besides, it’s a great excuse to have a HEALTHIER version of a “milkshake” for breakfast! Thank You Shaklee!
I can’t even begin to tell you how delicious this smoothie is. Thick and creamy, slightly spicy and not too sweet, with lots of warm heartiness from the walnuts. This is by far one of the best protein shakes I’ve ever had and since I have plenty of fresh crispy walnuts, it will be a part of my morning post run recovery shake a few times a week! I made plenty for my friend and some for me too?!
It was perfect for after my long run this past Friday which fortunately ended better than it started. If you’ve had as long as winter as we have here in Minnesota, you’re also probably dealing with lots of cracks, crevices, pot holes and road hazards.
I discovered the hard way that the roads are a bit of a MESS and I unfortunately caught my toe or lost my footing somehow. So after almost 40 years of running….I went air born (at least it felt like it)?. I took a moment to access how I felt before I started my run again but thankfully I came out of it with no injuries…just a bit of a headache. And a hole in my favorite gloves and running tights?.
