I have taken this recipe up a notch my friends. My husband loved this so much he asked me to make it again tonight. He loved the combination of spices I used, and I have to admit, so did I!
We are on day #2 of our cleanse. As I said in this post, don’t let this cleanse intimidate you. It’s not about being perfect!
To be perfectly honest with you, since I am currently only 9 weeks away from running another 26.2 miles in Scotland for another international marathon, I am actually modifying the cleanse slightly. Due to my type A personality, It does feel like I am cheating a bit but I also want to make sure I don’t drop any more weight and to give my body the extra protein it needs while training!
And of course, when you are running as much as I am right now, it’s not the time to cleanse. Eating lots of veggies is something I do on a daily basis, but eliminating all protein, including plant based foods such as nuts, seeds, legumes, etc makes it hard to get enough protein for my current activity level. They encourage light to moderate exercise but I’d say I am a step above that right now?.
Anyhow, the only modification I am doing is adding one scoop of our Plant Based Protein to my smoothies. My husband is fully on board and committed so I really wanted support him as much as possible. I am so very proud of him and when I asked him how he’d like to complete this phrase, “IN 30 DAYS I WILL FEEL” …..he said “PROUD!”
After the 7 Day Healthy Cleanse, we will continue on our journey with the New Prove It Challenge and do our best to continue eating mostly plant based meals for the next 30 days. We’ve also made a commitment to avoid alcohol until we leave for Scotland, or until my husband reaches his goal weight, which ever comes first.
