Amidst a whirlwind coaching season in my health and wellness business, I’ve finally found a moment to dive back into sharing some of what’s been happened the past few months.
Let’s start with my long-overdue recount of the CHOCOHOLIC 10K race that took place in October.
The past months have been a blur of coaching sessions and commitments, leaving little room for blogging. However, I am excited to share more about my chocolate-themed running race and catch up on a few of my other overdue posts. So, let’s dive into the delightful adventure that was the CHOCOHOLIC 10K!
MY FAVORITE 10K RACE:
Race Day Success: The weather was absolute perfect for running. Chilly at the start but no wind and once I started running, it didn’t take long to warm-up. It was one of those days where everything seemed to fall in place. The weather, I felt rested, and once I hit mile 4 I realized I bet I can run faster. So I did. This helped me it a new personal best time in my age bracket maintaining a sub 9-minute pace.
The last time I ran this race was back in 2019 placing 4th in my age group. You can read all about my experience here. This year I placed 1st in my age group with a time of 55:46. I had so much fun!
Sweet Rewards
The allure of chocolate at the finish line added an extra zest to every step. Perhaps it’s true what they say – a runner’s speed can be directly proportional to the promise of chocolate indulgence.😂 There was plenty!
Gratitude to My Support System
I owe a massive shoutout to my number one fan and fantastic photographer, my husband, whose videos and photos captured the essence of the race day. To my ever-supportive running coach, your belief in me has been a driving force, especially during those moments of self-doubt. And to the incredible volunteers at Anderson races, your enthusiasm and dedication in organizing these events make them an absolute joy to participate in.
Power of Pre-Race Fuel
A pivotal mention goes to Shaklee for crafting an incredible pre-race workout drink. I have been using their sports nutrition products for years but recently I added our new NEW PRE WORKOUT DRINK. Let me tell you folks….it is the BOMB! I love how I feel when using it plus it tastes great. You can read more about it here. Their sports nutrition has significantly enhanced my performance so if you are looking for something, these products are clinically proven and have an empty bottle guarantee. For those curious about it, I’ll link back to the products on my webpage.
Conclusion:
As I reminisce about my latest CHOCOHOLIC 10K, I can’t help but look forward to my favorite post-run rituals. There’s something magical about that moment when I cross the finish line, knowing our next stop is a fun cafe where a yummy treat awaits. My go-to indulgence? A comforting cup of rich, dark coffee paired with a delectable pastry. But that’s not all! The real satisfaction comes from savoring a nourishing bowl of oatmeal or relishing the creaminess of avocado toast – the perfect savory contrast to complement the sweetness of victory and chocolate.
I hope you enjoyed catching up with me again. My next race will be on the opposite end of the world…NEW NEALAND. More on that to come 😁
